Turn your questions and answers into FAQ schema.

Type or paste your questions and answers. Your browser builds the schema code (JSON-LD) as you type, ready to paste into your page.

Worth knowing first: since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites. On other sites, FAQ schema does no harm and other tools that read schema.org can use it, but it won't change how your result looks in Google.

Your schema code

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": [
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "What does your product do?",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "Replace this with your answer, as it appears on the page."
      }
    }
  ]
}
</script>

Paste it into the page's <head> or anywhere in its <body>. The same questions and answers must also be visible on the page.

Questions about FAQ schema

Will this give me FAQ rich results in Google?

Almost certainly not. Since August 2023, Google shows them only for well-known, authoritative government and health sites. Google also says markup it doesn't use causes no problems, so there's no need to remove it where it already is.

Then why add it?

It describes your questions and answers in a standard format that other search engines and tools can read, and it costs nothing. Don't add it expecting a change in your Google results.

What are the rules?

Mark up only questions and answers that are visible on the page, written by you rather than by users (a forum thread is QAPage, not FAQPage), and not used as advertising. If the same FAQ appears on several pages, mark up only one of them.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. Your browser builds the schema as you type. Nothing is sent or stored.

Do SEO for SaaS articles include it?

Yes. Every article with an FAQ section comes with FAQ schema next to its Article schema, so your blog template doesn't have to build it.
